Every year on July 23, the Arab Republic of Egypt observes its official National Day, widely known as Revolution Day, one of the most important secular national holidays across the North African nation. This landmark date commemorates the historic 1952 Revolution led by the Free Officers Movement, led by national icons Gamal Abdel Nasser and Mohamed Naguib, which toppled the corrupt Farouk monarchy and terminated long-standing British colonial influence over Egyptian territory.
Before 1952, Egypt suffered from royal corruption, unstable domestic governance and incomplete national sovereignty under foreign military occupation. The bloodless July Revolution overturned the old ruling system, established the Egyptian Republic in 1953, carried out vital land reform for local farmers, and realized the nationalization of the Suez Canal in 1956, laying solid political and economic foundations for modern independent Egypt. More than 70 years on, this revolution still stands as a spiritual symbol of national independence, anti-colonialism and Arab nationalism for Egyptian citizens and the whole Arab world.
On the sacred National Day of Egypt, we sincerely send our warmest blessings to the Egyptian people: may this ancient land with thousands of years of splendid civilization maintain stability and prosperity, and may the friendship and business cooperation between Chinese manufacturers and Egyptian customers grow deeper and stronger forever.
